As we embark on the new year, I’m reminded of a powerful Biblical principle I wanted to share this morning.  “Only sacrifice brings the Supernatural.” Psalm 4:5  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord. Awhile back I decided Wrestling would be one of the lifelong gifts I would pass on to my Son Samuel.  I knew the training, competition and challenges of victory & defeat would build character traits that only the sport of Grappling can provide. As my Family and I began to commit the time and finances required to the sport I quickly saw a return on the investment.  Samuel’s demeanorRead More →

As I sit and reflect on things (which is a rare occurrence trust me) I find myself wondering how my Children (x3) can be closer to God.  I certainly know firsthand the benefits of a close and personal relationship with the Lord and I so want my Children to see those same benefits of obedience. Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.  Though we have a busy schedule in the Romero home, I’ve seen technology & entertainment feeding ravenously on our free time more and more.  While I’m a firm believer in balancing spiritual and natural life,Read More →

A.W. Tozer, in Man: The Dwelling Place of God, wrote the following: “The weakness of so many modern Christians is that they feel too much at home in the world.” I read this quote in a Twitter post on the first Sunday of this Advent season.  It seemed to stick with me, and I thought of it often as I meditated on the meaning of Christmas during the Advent season.  Of course the point, for those of us that call ourselves bible believing Christians, is that we are “In” this world, but we are not “Of” this world.  John shares that this was the teaching of Jesus inRead More →

The Death Panel court of the UK’s socialized medical system is at it again.  Just as with Charlie Gard, little Alfie Evans and his parents are in the fight of there lives.  Not only with an unknown disease that keeps Alfie in a coma, with  seizuers, but with a hospital supported by a socialized medical and court system much more comfortable with terminating life than turning that life over to those who LOVE IT and to another hospital willing to help Alfie rather than KILL him. Doctors at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital are in disagreement with Alfie’s parents on whether “continued active treatment” isRead More →

So many times in my life I stepped off a wrestling mat only to face the real opponent, myself. Turning to a path of destruction that was supposed to bring me closer to how I wanted to be regarded, I found myself lost, angered, confused and reckless throughout my teens and 20’s. With the work ethic and grit only a wrestler understands, I attacked life with an unmatched intensity that was rewarded with everything BUT anything. There are times in life that God only gives his blessing only after a prolonged period of pain. In Genesis 32, Jacob finds himself in a wrestling match withRead More →

John 14:6  6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” First, brief context and backstory: This statement, among the most “radical” ever spoken by Jesus was made in response to a question that Thomas posed in the previous verse while Jesus and the disciples were gathered in the upper room for the last supper before His arrest:   John 14:5 – Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going.  How can we know the way?” Jesus, being the only one with the knowledge of what was to come, answersRead More →

John 1:1-5  1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2 He was in the beginning with God.  3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Have you ever thought about the mystery, power, and glory of this statement? Consider its impact on the Christmas story and incorporate it into your season of advent. #RadicalWords #WeAreRadicalMenRead More →

Luke 14:25-26  25 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” #RadicalWords #WeAreRadicalMen  Read More →

A flood of emotions is all I have. My heart is broken today for little Charlie’s parents. Now that his earthly struggle has come to an end, I am joyful and assured that little Charlie has been called home and is fully embraced in the arms of Christ. I am near the point of rage at the tyranny of a progressive government that is allowed steal away from the parents their privilege of nurturing and caring for one of God’s children. Lastly, I am fearful that the body of Christ has either fallen asleep or has been beaten into submission to the point that we willRead More →
