As we embark on the new year, I’m reminded of a powerful Biblical principle I wanted to share this morning.  “Only sacrifice brings the Supernatural.”

Psalm 4:5  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

Awhile back I decided Wrestling would be one of the lifelong gifts I would pass on to my Son Samuel.  I knew the training, competition and challenges of victory & defeat would build character traits that only the sport of Grappling can provide.

As my Family and I began to commit the time and finances required to the sport I quickly saw a return on the investment.  Samuel’s demeanor became more noble and refined, my Wife and I could see roots of character begin to grow.  I was so moved by what I saw that I decided to commit my talents in addition to my time and finances.  I began involving myself in Coaching and Prayer with the team, if only to spend more time with my Son, at first.  Though this involvement has certainly been a sacrifice, it has all been worth it! God has blessed the sacrifice and continued Supernatural blessings in my Family.  Samuel and I have a comradery and a shared vision that seems to be difficult to find in the Father/Son relationship these days.  Our whole Family comes together to watch the competitions, cheer the progress and console the defeats.  What a blessing it has all been!  Now, I find myself excited to see these same fruits come to bear in all our Families this year.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
