Yesterdays Daily Proverb (Proverbs 1:24-33), provides us with a problem and a subsequent warning. The problem is our refusal to listen to the call from Wisdom (the Lord), our inability to heed Wisdom (the Lord), and our consistent ignoring of Wisdom’s (the Lord’s) counsel & reproof. This culminates in NOT choosing the fear of the Lord. The result, as we are warned, is to make our own way, with our own devices, turning from Wisdom (the Lord) and ending with our own destruction.
But have no fear; Wisdom (the Lord) makes a way for us to find the knowledge of God in Proverbs 2:1-5:
1 My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
2 making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
3 yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
